Curriculum

The course structure of the Graduate Program in Production Engineering (PPGEP) at EEIMVR, UFF, consists of both required and elective courses. Students enrolled in the graduate program must complete a minimum of six courses: three required and three elective. Upon entering the PPGEP, the student will be assigned a faculty advisor, who will be responsible for guiding the student in selecting the courses required for knowledge acquisition and, ultimately, for the development of their Master’s Dissertation. All required courses and some elective courses listed below have a workload of sixty hours (60h), each providing four (4) credits. One elective course (Special Topics in Optimization II) carries two (2) credits, corresponding to a workload of thirty hours (30h). Each credit corresponds to 15 (fifteen) hours of class time. The minimum total workload of the Master’s program is 720 hours, distributed as follows: 3 (three) required courses (180 hours); at least 3 (three) elective courses (180 hours); and the Master’s Dissertation (corresponding to 360 hours).

PPGEP classes take place in the evening, during which the student, together with their advisor, determines which elective courses offered in the semester will be taken. This allows the student the freedom to choose their study days. Only the mandatory courses offered in the semester must be taken by those who have not yet completed them.
